    Snowmen against climate change – a new Facebook application created by LGMi

    As part of a broader awareness campaign against global warming, LGM Interactive has created a playful, "build-your-own-snowman" Facebook game for an agency working on behalf of German energy provider ENTEGA. Using Google Maps as a supporting layer, the application lets users create virtual, 3D snowmen, and share them with their friends via email and on Facebook. Users can also send their favorite photos of snowmen to be uploaded on the platform.

    For the last few years, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Allianz have been publishing a ranking of how the G8 countries are performing on climate change. This year, we created an interactive Flash feature to highlight the main points of the report, and help them reach a wider audience. The interactive scorecards were published in five languages.

    WWF and Allianz publish report about climate 'tipping points'

In 1998, Eric left his career in offline sales and marketing to join the design agency, Razorfish. He project managed large-scale projects in San Francisco, Melbourne, Hamburg and Munich for clients such as Autoweb, Village Roadshow Pictures, Audi, and Hypovereinsbank, and later became the head of the Experience Group at Razorfish Germany where he applied his usability and user-centered design skills on projects for Bayern LB, Metler Toledo, T-Mobile, and Stage Entertainment. In 2002, he was appointed as head of design and usability for LexisNexis Europe and in 2004 as head of projects for a digital music marketing agency in London. There he oversaw various projects for Nokia, Orange, O2, and Sony.

Before starting LGM Interactive, Eric consulted on projects for Vodafone, the Fjord Group, the German Center for Artificial Intelligence, and Metaversum. His work has received awards and honorary mentions at the Lead Awards, INDEX: Award and Prix ARS Electronica. He also co-wrote the documentary Trouble - Teatime in Heilingendamm, which won the Cinema for Peace Award at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival.

From a background in academic publishing and journalism, Valdis stepped into the world of CSR as an editor of the Allianz Knowledge Partnersite, a forward-thinking knowledge-sharing platform about climate change, microfinance, and demographic change from one of the world's largest financial services providers. Valdis also worked on the unprecedented "Table of Free Voices" from dropping knowledge, and was involved in strategic planning of follow-up campaigns aimed at amplifying social and environmental issues globally.

At LGMi, Valdis focuses on design and strategic development of visual tools and interactive features that help bring knowledge and research to life. Recently, he has worked on Flash and video features to showcase the engagement of organizations like Allianz, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and California-based NGO International Rivers.
